Power Tower Series – Remote Control & Reboot for Vital Data Centre Devices
The Power Tower series combine the key functions a data centre manager’s needs to manage each equipment cabinet: intelligent power distribution, remote management to reboot connected devices, input current power monitoring, environmental monitoring and serial console port access.
Power Tower XL
The Power Tower (PTXL) is an intelligent power distribution and remote power control solution for equipment cabinets with dual power feeds. The PTXL is an expansive step forward as a Remote Power Management Solution for Data Centre Equipment Cabinets. Designed for enclosed-cabinets or open-racks, the PTXL supports dual 30-amp power input feeds and up to 32 power outlet-receptacles. Sixty amps of power can be distributed over 32 power outlet-receptacles to support cabinets with high-density servers. The PTXL provides Remote Power Management of each power receptacle - individually or as a selected group - from any location via TCP/IP using Telnet or HTML interfaces.
Power-Up Sequencing
Power-up sequencing on the Power Tower prevents an in-rush power overload. When power is suspended and restored to the Power Tower, the 8 or 16 receptacles power-up in four-second intervals. An LED indicator at each power outlet signifies the status of the receptacle, notifying the onsite technician when power has resumed to the outlet. The power-up sequencing feature precludes all outlets from powering-on at once, averting a power overload spike and a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker in your data centre.
Power Tower Fail-Safe
The PTXL Fail-Safe unit is unique in that it contains 2 in feeds and 2 banks of 8 outlets each, for a total of 16 outlets across the two circuits. The "A" in feed routinely powers just the A1-8 - outlets, and the "B" in feed routinely powers just the B1-8 outlets. However, if power to an in feed is lost, the eight outlets for that in feed fail-over to the remaining live circuit. The transfer occurs in fewer than 18 milliseconds, plenty fast to avoid any interruption to the attached equipment.
With the PTXL Fail-Safe, if the "A" in feed goes down, the "B" in feed powers all 16 outlets. If the "B" in feed goes down, the "A" in feed powers all 16 outlets.
Power Tower Dual Power
Designed for enclosed-cabinets or open-racks, each PTXL supports dual power Input feeds (up to 30 Amps each) and up to 32 power outlet-receptacles. The PTXL provides Remote Power Management of each power receptacle - individually or as a selected group-via Web, Telnet or SNMP management. The exclusive Outlet Group Control feature of the power outlet-receptacles from two different power circuits allows a user to easily reboot a dual-power supply server or other device with a single command. Link an expansion unit, the PTXM, to each PTXL to control multiple power circuits with a single user interface.
Sentry CDU
CDU Switched Outlet range allows for the monitored distribution and control of multiple power circuits to multiple outlets. Optional Sensors allow monitoring of temperature and humidity in the area of the unit. It is possible to remotely reboot single or multi power supply servers in one command. The system can send SNMP alerts to notify of configured events. The security module of the unit allows multiple user profiles with individual port level access rights.
Only the Switched CDU products provide the flexibility needed for all data centres and remote sites, including power requirements for high-amp, high voltage; UL 60950-1 branch circuit protection; SSL & SSH security; and SNMP-based input current monitoring.
